Alvaro Berenguer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernan Polbin, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 25th minute Andres Lander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Berenguer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvaro Berenguer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marciano Maria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A nice corner shot did that Andres Lander got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Alvaro Berenguer quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Alvaro Berenguer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Dominix in the 32nd minute of play. CADU de Zarate were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after Platense's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Hector Reno took the corner. In the 35th minute CADU de Zarate were awarded a corner. Hector Reno went to the cornerflag to take it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dhritiman Judge in the 39th minute of play forced Platense's goalkeeper Alvaro Berenguer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Dominix kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After the first half CADU de Zarate were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andres Lander to make the kick off. The supporters of Platense booed when CADU de Zarate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernan Polbin didn't get a good kick on the ball.
