The supporters of Florida Gulf Coast booed when Zodiaco Star F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eberhard Kühlem didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute of the match, Delmar Eztebe tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luis Nardo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Fernan Chepe hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, Lukáš Katačić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Florida Gulf Coast's Luis Nardo got control of the ball when Everardo Illan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 39 played minutes Zodiaco Star F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Fernan Chepe. An unexpectedly hard shot by Everardo Illan in the 42nd minute of play forced Florida Gulf Coast's goalkeeper Luis Nardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The attack was good, but when Everardo Illan in the 42nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Zodiaco Star F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Everardo Illan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luis Nardo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Florida Gulf Coast's Eleuterio Fiz managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Fernan Chepe in the 78 minute of the game. In the 79thth minute of the game Lukáš Katačić who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zodiaco Star F.C.'s Carolo Dunixi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Florida Gulf Coast's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by John James in the 81st minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Zodiaco Star F.C.'s goalie and right to Steve Rogers. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Zodiaco Star F.C.'s manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. When Eberhard Kühlem came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Zodiaco Star F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eberhard Kühlem couldn't finish the play. Eleuterio Fiz hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Luis Nardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Everardo Illan in the 87th minute of play. Carolo Dunixi came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Florida Gulf Coast's Lukáš Katačić. But to his dismay, Lukáš Katačić quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Fernan Chepe kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Florida Gulf Coast played a much better game than Zodiaco Star F.C. and deserved their victory. The Zodiaco Star F.C. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
