In the 36th minute of the match Los Laguneros de AT got a corner. Independiente's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cihan Baydar ran over to the corner to take the kick. Simon Hori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Segundo Rocca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Simon Hori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Segundo Rocca in the 39th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Lučano Lapotne got a free kick in the 40th minute. When Segundo Rocca came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Segundo Rocca couldn't finish the play.

Los Laguneros de AT made a substitution. Kazimierz Patora replaced Juan Bixintxo. Los Laguneros de AT's Simon Hori proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Los Laguneros de AT from getting a goal against them. Maikel Jol hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Nestor Tesone's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bartolo Idacio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. After 68 played minutes Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Maikel Jol. 70 minutes into the match, Los Laguneros de AT's Nestor Tesone sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bartolo Idacio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 81st minute of the match, Segundo Rocca got a very nice opportunity to score, but Simon Hori was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 85 minutes, Leonides Ihazintu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Independiente and the Los Laguneros de AT players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bartolo Idacio came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Los Laguneros de AT's Nestor Tesone. But to his dismay, Nestor Tesone quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Martin Suy got free with Simon Hori in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Independiente's Xu Wei Kun slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Simon Hori. That made the score 1-3 after 92 minutes of play. Darryl Kalogerakis got a throw-in 96 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Segundo Rocca. When the final whistle sounded Independiente left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Los Laguneros de AT.
