Gandwy Hawker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Drew French in the 4th minute of the match. Cadfael Brackeen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cant Cockwell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. After some careless play in the Prestatyn defense, Cadeyrn Donald kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cant Cockwell. The Prestatyn fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cant Cockwell should have stopped the shot. In the 22nd minute Cadeyrn Donald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cant Cockwell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute, Drew Doney made a precise shot to the right of Cant Cockwell. Prestatyn's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Drew Doney stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cant Cockwell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cadeyrn Donald in the 57th minute. After 64 played minutes Caerleon FC got a freekick which was hit by Cadfael Brackeen. In the 69th minute, Caerleon FC's Cadeyrn Donald ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cant Cockwell. Gandwy Hawker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Prestatyn.
