Bwlch Thatcher came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Llansanffraid-ym-Mechain's Vicente Locatelli. But to his dismay, Vicente Locatelli quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Teregud Brien scored 1-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lovel Hobbs, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Deiniol Hinton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 44 minutes, Vicente Locatelli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Llansanffraid-ym-Mechain's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vicente Locatelli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The wind increased when Mariano Urquiaga made the kick off in the second half. When Nicolae Mincu came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Llansanffraid-ym-Mechain fans jumped to their feet. After 75 played minutes Rhyl FC got a freekick which was hit by Dillus Johnson. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Drystan Birkbeck during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 93rd minute Teregud Brien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lovel Hobbs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Llansanffraid-ym-Mechain could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Rhyl FC throughout the match.
