After 59 minutes, Fábio Jesus mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Red Star Monção and the João Próspero Remax players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th match minute, Red Star Monção was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fábio Jesus to maneuver through the defense. João Meireles took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Osvaldo Alvarenga. Osvaldo Alvarenga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. João Próspero Remax's Normando Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Wayne in the 94th minute of play. Normando Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andaka Babalov in the 95th minute of play. Red Star Monção's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
