Tommy Boyce started the match with the kick off. Garstang AFC's Ray Folwill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derek Findley in the 2nd minute of play. With a little luck, Garstang AFC's Ray Folwill got control of the ball when Tommy Boyce tried to sneak it across the goal line. Florencio Maureo charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Florencio Maureo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ray Folwill acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 8th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Virgil Van. Ray Folwill took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eddie Wittingham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Garstang AFC's Ray Folwill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eddie Wittingham in the 12th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Tommy Boyce ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ray Folwill. Ray Folwill yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. 33 minutes into the match, Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Tommy Boyce sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ray Folwill narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Virgil Van in the 36th minute. The corner led Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Derek Findley to a score. 5-0 in the 37th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Garstang AFC's goalkeeper Ray Folwill had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Neil Deacon. In the 43rd minute of the match Lisburn Distillery F.C. got a corner. Garstang AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Virgil Van ran over to the corner to take the kick. Virgil Van made a great header on Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s corner, it was just that Garstang AFC's Ray Folwill managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 47th minute Derek Findley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ray Folwill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kris Jewson was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Neil Deacon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 53 minutes into the match, Garstang AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Derek Findley came free, but Ray Folwill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Derek Findley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Ray Folwill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ray Folwill stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Derek Findley's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Virgil Van in the 62nd minute. Ray Folwill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddie Wittingham in the 63rd minute of play. Ray Folwill took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Derek Findley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ray Folwill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neil Deacon, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Ray Folwill came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Tommy Boyce. But to his dismay, Tommy Boyce quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. 77 minutes into the game, Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Adrian Ruddock nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ray Folwill made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Ray Folwill took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Neil Deacon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ray Folwill came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Derek Findley. But to his dismay, Derek Findley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. In the 93rd match minute, Garstang AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Spione to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Derek Findley in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ray Folwill prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eddie Wittingham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Ray Folwill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
