The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, V.V.V - Venlo's goal looked a bit too open when Timofey Melnikov came free, but Austmar Janusson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Garibaldi Dónaldsson in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marek Wielopolski saved Skallagrimur from getting behind. In the 9th minute Ómi Eilífsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Austmar Janusson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, V.V.V - Venlo's Húmi Nikulásson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The audience was convinced that Uni Gunnarsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Austmar Janusson was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Austmar Janusson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uni Gunnarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. If Timofey Melnikov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Austmar Janusson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uni Gunnarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Húmi Nikulásson's late challenge caught a Skallagrimur's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Húmi Nikulásson helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, V.V.V - Venlo's Húmi Nikulásson got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Skallagrimur's Marek Wielopolski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Skallagrimur from getting a goal against them. Austmar Janusson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timofey Melnikov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute, Timofey Melnikov made a precise shot to the right of Austmar Janusson. V.V.V - Venlo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Marek Wielopolski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Engiljón Eilífsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Uni Gunnarsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Þrastar Siggeirsson fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Skallagrimur's protests and gave Þrastar Siggeirsson a yellow card for diving instead. Ómi Eilífsson charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ómi Eilífsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Skallagrimur getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Ómi Eilífsson hit a great ball. After 66 minutes V.V.V - Venlo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Þrastar Siggeirsson who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Skallagrimur's Þrastar Siggeirsson to fire away a dangerous shot which Austmar Janusson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Uni Gunnarsson notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of V.V.V - Venlo's Austmar Janusson. Austmar Janusson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Skallagrimur's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Þrastar Siggeirsson in the 88th minute. Austmar Janusson was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Timofey Melnikov capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Timofey Melnikov really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Skallagrimur's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
