Rockets FC's Borgar Ósvaldsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Rockets FC from getting a goal against them. After 6 minutes, Kolskeggur Njálsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Task Mývatni and the Rockets FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kolskeggur Njálsson hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. If Geirtryggur Sveinbjörnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Walter Snæbjörnsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Borgar Ósvaldsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Skafti Hermansson came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Rockets FC's Lýður Benediktsson. But to his dismay, Lýður Benediktsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Task Mývatni booed when Rockets FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marías Hilmirsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rockets FC's Borgar Ósvaldsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hildibrandur Hallbjörnsson in the 19th minute of play. Ingþór Ormarsson was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 22 minutes into the match. Ingþór Ormarsson kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. When Rockets FC's Geirtryggur Sveinbjörnsson in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Task Mývatni's goalie prevented a goal. In the 26th minute Auðbergur Gretarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borgar Ósvaldsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Rockets FC's Borgar Ósvaldsson got control of the ball when Walter Snæbjörnsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 34th minute, Seifur Guðfinnsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hildibrandur Hallbjörnsson in the 35th minute of play forced Rockets FC's goalkeeper Borgar Ósvaldsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Task Mývatni were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after Rockets FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jason Indriðason took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Jason Indriðason got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Borgar Ósvaldsson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 45 minutes into the game, Task Mývatni's Walter Snæbjörnsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Borgar Ósvaldsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Borgar Ósvaldsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Auðbergur Gretarsson in the 52nd minute of the match. The supporters of Task Mývatni booed when Rockets FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seifur Guðfinnsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hildibrandur Hallbjörnsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Rockets FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Logi Ásmundsson hit a great ball. After 69 minutes Rockets FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jason Indriðason who took care of the corner kick. Jason Indriðason made a great header on Task Mývatni's corner, it was just that Rockets FC's Borgar Ósvaldsson managed to reach the ball for a save. When Walter Snæbjörnsson fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Task Mývatni's protests and gave Walter Snæbjörnsson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 76th match minute, Task Mývatni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walter Snæbjörnsson to maneuver through the defense. Borgar Ósvaldsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walter Snæbjörnsson in the 86th minute of the match. Walter Snæbjörnsson hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Task Mývatni walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
