Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Saoirse McStephen got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Louie Morrison was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shankill's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carranty the free kick. In the 4th match minute, Shankill was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Louie Morrison to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the match, Shankill's goalkeeper Irwin McJohnny had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Piers Dillon. Irwin McJohnny made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beale McPaul in the 8th minute of play. Irwin McJohnny was out of position in the 10 minute of play, and Beale McPaul capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Beale McPaul really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. When Riddoc Bayes fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Shankill's protests and gave Riddoc Bayes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd minute, Louie Morrison hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beale McPaul in the 26th minute of play forced Shankill's goalkeeper Irwin McJohnny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Irwin McJohnny showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beale McPaul, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Shankill's Irwin McJohnny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Piers Dillon in the 33rd minute of play. Irwin McJohnny made an important save on a dangerous shot by Piers Dillon in the 36th minute. In the 40th minute Piers Dillon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Irwin McJohnny saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, Carranty's Piers Dillon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Irwin McJohnny. Irwin McJohnny yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Beale McPaul to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Piers Dillon in the 52nd minute of play forced Shankill's goalkeeper Irwin McJohnny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Shankill's Brennan Byrne got a free kick in the 58th minute. Irwin McJohnny made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beale McPaul in the 60th minute of play. After 64 played minutes Carranty got a freekick which was hit by Braoin Grant. Irwin McJohnny took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Braoin Grant, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Irwin McJohnny showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Piers Dillon in the 67th minute of the match. Irwin McJohnny showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beale McPaul, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 74th minute, Beale McPaul left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Carranty fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. After 76 played minutes Shankill got a freekick which was hit by Saoirse McStephen. In the 77th minute, Pearce Johnson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 79 minutes of play, Carranty's Roland Moran made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Irwin McJohnny was left in no man's land by his defense there! Renny McPaul sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute, Renny McPaul made a precise shot to the right of Irwin McJohnny. Shankill's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. After 91 played minutes Shankill got a freekick which was hit by Brennan Byrne. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renny McPaul in the 92nd minute of play forced Shankill's goalkeeper Irwin McJohnny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 96 minutes into the game, Carranty's Piers Dillon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Irwin McJohnny made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Carranty fully deserved thier win.
