Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Brenainn McSteven kicked off to start the match. Bercan Doyle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Boyce Dalton's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. Donegal Glen Crowe kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Bairne Hughes spun around in front of the goal 11 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Emyvale AFC's goal. When Roland Dempsey came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Emyvale AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roland Dempsey couldn't finish the play. Brenainn McSteven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Emyvale AFC's zone, Boyce Dalton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bercan Doyle came out of the goal and Boyce Dalton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brenainn McSteven fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tierney McGlenn having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Roland Dempsey dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tierney McGlenn, 1-0. In the 27th minute, Roland Dempsey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tierney McGlenn was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Tierney McGlenn was a little too slow when Brenainn McSteven got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 36th minute. The score was now 3-0. In the 39th minute, Roland Dempsey made a precise shot to the right of Tierney McGlenn. Newtownbarry FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. In the 43rd minute Bairne Hughes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bercan Doyle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Donegal Glen Crowe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Emyvale AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Donegal Glen Crowe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tierney McGlenn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Boyce Dalton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 62 minutes, Brenainn McSteven managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Emyvale AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brenainn McSteven was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 63 played minutes Emyvale AFC got a freekick which was hit by Donegal Glen Crowe. 64 minutes into the match, Newtownbarry FC's Raymond Tierney broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Tierney McGlenn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brenainn McSteven, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Roland Dempsey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Tierney McGlenn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brenainn McSteven in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tierney McGlenn saved Newtownbarry FC from getting behind. After some careless play in the Newtownbarry FC defense, Roland Dempsey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tierney McGlenn. The Newtownbarry FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tierney McGlenn should have stopped the shot. If Boyce Dalton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Tory McPaul fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Emyvale AFC's protests and gave Tory McPaul a yellow card for diving instead. Newtownbarry FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Raymond Tierney in the 95th minute. Emyvale AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Newtownbarry FC for a fine match.
