ESCOLI's Zaq Wittingham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seth Henderson in the 11th minute of play. Nicholas Chamberlain didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frank McCunnie went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Patrick Sullivan managed to get in a good position for a shot. ESCOLI's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrick Sullivan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicholas Chamberlain breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Rotherham United's Walter Higgins got a free kick in the 21st minute. Danny Burkinshaw took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nicholas Chamberlain. Rotherham United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Zaq Wittingham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Seth Henderson in the 34th minute of play.

The wind increased when Frank McCunnie made the kick off in the second half. Nicholas Chamberlain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank McCunnie, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 79th minute Frank McCunnie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicholas Chamberlain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Danny Burkinshaw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Frank McCunnie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrick Sullivan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. ESCOLI were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Rotherham United to leave the ground with a draw.
