Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ely FC's Charlie Beverley started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fred Chapman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charlie Beverley in the 6th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, jimjam's Jeff Nailor got a free kick in the 12th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Charlie Beverley notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of jimjam's Fred Chapman. Fred Chapman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 17 minutes into the match, jimjam's Kristian Colman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Warren Darling narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A hard shot 21 in the game by Kristian Colman from a close distance when the talented Warren Darling managed to make a qualified save. Ely FC's players were relieved. Fred Chapman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Phelps, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Philip Beadel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute, Jeff Nailor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Charlie Beverley blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fred Chapman having to make a save. If Kristian Colman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charlie Beverley in the 39th minute of play forced jimjam's goalkeeper Fred Chapman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 44 minutes, Sid Woolford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. jimjam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sid Woolford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edward Ridsdale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Warren Darling read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. After the first half Ely FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Sid Woolford made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Kristian Colman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Warren Darling was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Charlie Beverley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Fred Chapman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, jimjam's Edward Ridsdale got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 66thth minute of the game Kristian Colman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ely FC's Warren Darling was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fred Chapman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joe Trusswell in the 68th minute of play. 72 minutes into the game, Edward Ridsdale was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. jimjam's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ely FC the free kick. Edward Ridsdale kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Tris Duff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Warren Darling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sid Woolford, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 86th minute, Edward Ridsdale made a precise shot to the right of Warren Darling. Ely FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ely FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for jimjam.
