In the 3rd minute, Sean Archer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 5th match minute, Thrybergh AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Heywood to maneuver through the defense. Karl Fleetwood charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Karl Fleetwood the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 6 played minutes Thrybergh AFC got a freekick which was hit by Karl Fleetwood. After 12 played minutes Thrybergh AFC got a freekick which was hit by Martin Huxtable. After 13 minutes, Alf Pope made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Thrybergh AFC's Guy Hurst tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 19th minute, Naija Draig's Alf Pope ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Guy Hurst. Guy Hurst yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. 32 minutes into the game, Naija Draig's Alf Pope nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Guy Hurst made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. The supporters of Naija Draig booed when Thrybergh AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert Newton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alf Pope's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Guy Hurst skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Guy Hurst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlton Copsey in the 41st minute of the match. The supporters of Naija Draig booed when Thrybergh AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl Fleetwood didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Thrybergh AFC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Jimmy Cheswick hit a great ball. Naija Draig's John Harris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sean Archer in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jimmy Cheswick stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alf Pope in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guy Hurst saved Thrybergh AFC from getting behind. John Harris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Huxtable, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sean Archer's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but John Harris firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jimmy Cheswick in the 70th minute of play forced Naija Draig's goalkeeper John Harris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Naija Draig's zone, Sean Archer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. John Harris came out of the goal and Sean Archer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sean Archer got free with John Harris in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 80 minutes into the match, Naija Draig's goalkeeper John Harris had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sean Archer. John Harris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimmy Cheswick, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Max Sills hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. 90 minutes into the match, Alf Pope had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guy Hurst. Thrybergh AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alf Pope was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Alf Pope blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guy Hurst having to make a save. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Naija Draig had played much better football throughout.
