When Kris Parks came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Cleckheaton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kris Parks couldn't finish the play. In the 7th minute, Cleckheaton's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Brad East fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. A collision led to BAC FC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Alec Deakin hit a great ball. Ashley Webster took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ray Bassett. Ray Bassett dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Cleckheaton's zone, Brad East stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tris Long came out of the goal and Brad East tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ray Bassett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ashley Webster in the 23rd minute of play. Vinnie Carter hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the game, Kris Parks cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ray Bassett was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ray Bassett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ashley Webster in the 39th minute of the match. Verne McGurk charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Verne McGurk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 42nd minute, Verne McGurk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in BAC FC's zone, Ashley Webster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ray Bassett came out of the goal and Ashley Webster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ashley Webster in the 45th minute of play forced BAC FC's goalkeeper Ray Bassett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cleckheaton's Ashley Webster in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye BAC FC's goalie prevented a goal. Ray Bassett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ashley Webster in the 48th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brad East to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Eric Addison got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 56 minutes, Eric Addison mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cleckheaton and the BAC FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56th match minute, Cleckheaton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Addison to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th play minute Eric Addison came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ray Bassett. 0-3. Ray Bassett stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ashley Webster's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Brad East kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Brendon Mayfield could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Ray Bassett made a huge save. Ray Bassett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kris Parks in the 68th minute of play. Ray Bassett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris Parks, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. BAC FC's Ray Bassett proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save BAC FC from getting a goal against them. Ray Bassett came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Cleckheaton's Kris Parks. But to his dismay, Kris Parks quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Dion Busby hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Ashley Webster in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ray Bassett, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eric Addison got free with Ray Bassett in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Ashley Webster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ray Bassett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eric Addison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ray Bassett had great luck who in the 92ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Ashley Webster from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Ashley Webster struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Ray Bassett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cleckheaton.
