An unexpectedly hard shot by Liberat Valant in the 14th minute of play forced Juršinci's goalkeeper Franček Juršič to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute Dragoslav Bilić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franček Juršič saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emil Urbanc struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Vid Štrajhar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Juršinci. After 34 minutes, Emil Urbanc mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Juršinci and the Koper players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Koper booed when Juršinci was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Urbanc didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dragoslav Bilić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Franček Juršič tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Liberat Valant stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Franček Juršič acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 66th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Nemanja Tič. Franček Juršič took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liberat Valant, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Koper's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dragoslav Bilić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Goran Brezovec sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Koper players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
