Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dan Dahlquist started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes Alvesta got a freekick which was hit by Karl-Ove Flink. Ivar Adelsköld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 11 minutes into the match, Dan Dahlquist dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fredric Söderlund, 1-0. 20 minutes into the match, Strängnäs BK's goal looked a bit too open when Dan Dahlquist came free, but Fredric Söderlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 32 played minutes Strängnäs BK got a freekick which was hit by Evert Nordlander. Torgny Giliusson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredric Söderlund having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Strängnäs BK's goal looked a bit too open when Dan Dahlquist came free, but Fredric Söderlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Alvesta's Fredric Söderlund threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dan Dahlquist, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Malcolm Dusett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredric Söderlund having to interfere. Dan Dahlquist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Fredric Söderlund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karl-Ove Flink got free with Fredric Söderlund in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ivar Adelsköld stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Malcolm Dusett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredric Söderlund having to interfere. The supporters of Alvesta booed when Strängnäs BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evert Nordlander didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Malcolm Dusett came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Alvesta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Malcolm Dusett couldn't finish the play. Strängnäs BK's Fredric Söderlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dan Dahlquist in the 71st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dan Dahlquist in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fredric Söderlund prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emanuel Ström struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Fredric Söderlund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alvesta. In the 93rdth minute of the game Dan Dahlquist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Strängnäs BK's Fredric Söderlund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Dan Dahlquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvesta walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
