Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Robert Asklund started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Alvesta's goal looked a bit too open when Kjell Olenberg came free, but Tom Gudmundsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 5th match minute, Alvesta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malcolm Dusett to maneuver through the defense. Robert Asklund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Alvesta's zone, Robert Asklund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tom Gudmundsson came out of the goal and Robert Asklund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 13th minute Robert Asklund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom Gudmundsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tom Gudmundsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Olof Sjöström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute Tansu Malkoçoğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom Gudmundsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Holmsjö FK booed when Alvesta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dan Dahlquist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alvesta's Tom Gudmundsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Asklund in the 19th minute of play. Dan Dahlquist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Mark Linberg made a huge save. A collision led to Holmsjö FK getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Hans Nyström hit a great ball. Mark Linberg made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Dan Dahlquist sent off a good shot on target. 30 minutes into the game, Robert Asklund cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Tom Gudmundsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tom Gudmundsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Süruri Talayman in the 33rd minute of play. Alvesta's Tom Gudmundsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Olof Sjöström in the 34th minute of play. Dan Dahlquist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mark Linberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. In the 40th minute Dan Dahlquist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Linberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Alvesta defense, Sven-Olof Sjöström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tom Gudmundsson. The Alvesta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tom Gudmundsson should have stopped the shot. Tom Gudmundsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kjell Olenberg in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 56th minute Sven-Olof Sjöström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom Gudmundsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 60 minutes, Dan Dahlquist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alvesta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dan Dahlquist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Holmsjö FK booed when Alvesta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egon Pååk didn't get a good kick on the ball. 67 minutes had been played when some careless play by Holmsjö FK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Karl Överman was slow to take the kick. During this time Alvesta's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Karl Överman almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Holmsjö FK's Mark Linberg did a great save. After some careless play in the Alvesta defense, Robert Asklund kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tom Gudmundsson. The Alvesta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tom Gudmundsson should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Sven-Olof Sjöström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Holmsjö FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven-Olof Sjöström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tom Gudmundsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 84 played minutes Alvesta got a freekick which was hit by Egon Pååk. Holmsjö FK's Mark Linberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dan Dahlquist in the 89th minute of play. Egon Pååk lost his temper 91 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 92nd match minute, Alvesta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egon Pååk to maneuver through the defense. Holmsjö FK's Robert Asklund couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Alvesta. Tansu Malkoçoğlu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Tom Gudmundsson made a huge save. The Holmsjö FK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Holmsjö FK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
