An unexpected shot in the 13th minute by Börge Svensson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 14 minutes into the game, Tage Classon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Mongols's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gotham FC the free kick. After 14 played minutes The Mongols got a freekick which was hit by Tage Classon. After 16 played minutes Gotham FC got a freekick which was hit by Nils-Åke Lindström. Henrik Björkkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernt Wikander in the 17th minute of play. After having played for 21 minutes, Staffan Trillkott managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gotham FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Staffan Trillkott was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 23 minutes, Jens-Åke Vinström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Mongols and the Gotham FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Mongols's Lars-Erik Lindkvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save The Mongols from getting a goal against them. Tage Classon got his second yellow card in the match during the 29th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. 35 minutes into the game, Bernt Wikander cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Henrik Björkkvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Börge Svensson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 40 minutes into the match, The Mongols's goalkeeper Lars-Erik Lindkvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Staffan Trillkott. With a little luck, The Mongols's Lars-Erik Lindkvist got control of the ball when Staffan Trillkott tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The Mongols's supporters rose to their feet, but Stig-Åke Andberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henrik Björkkvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gotham FC's Henrik Björkkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stig-Åke Andberg in the 89th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as The Mongols's Jens-Åke Vinström slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Henrik Björkkvist. That made the score 0-4 after 91 minutes of play. Börge Svensson scored 1-4 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lars-Erik Lindkvist, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Gotham FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. The Mongols were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
