Szczepan Nikodemski who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Waclaw Absolwent when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Szczepan Nikodemskis short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Waclaw Absolwent to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. MZKS's Waclaw Absolwent played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bogdan Winnicki in the 10th minute of play. Roman Golob showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Korneliusz Setara in the 14th minute of the match. Roman Golob stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Korneliusz Setara's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Waclaw Absolwent made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Szczepan Nikodemski sent off a good shot on target. 17 minutes into the match, Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Korneliusz Setara came free, but Roman Golob reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 18 minutes of play, Phoenix's Bogdan Winnicki made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Waclaw Absolwent was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in MZKS's zone, Bogdan Winnicki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waclaw Absolwent came out of the goal and Bogdan Winnicki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wasyl Bartoszek hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the match, MZKS's goalkeeper Waclaw Absolwent had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Szczepan Nikodemski. Waclaw Absolwent showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bogdan Winnicki, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After having played for 42 minutes, Korneliusz Setara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MZKS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Korneliusz Setara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 44th minute, Wasyl Bartoszek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leon Majewski hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Roman Golob took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Korneliusz Setara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

If Bogdan Jajecznica had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Korneliusz Setara's late challenge caught a Phoenix's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Korneliusz Setara helped the player get up and apologised. Korneliusz Setara hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 62 minutes into the match, MZKS's goal looked a bit too open when Szczepan Nikodemski came free, but Waclaw Absolwent reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute Bogdan Winnicki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waclaw Absolwent saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Walery Budzynski managed to get in a good position for a shot. MZKS's supporters rose to their feet, but Walery Budzynski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roman Golob breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Walery Budzynski might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roman Golob. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Walery Budzynski ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to MZKS getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Korneliusz Setara hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walery Budzynski in the 76th minute of play forced Phoenix's goalkeeper Roman Golob to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute Walery Budzynski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Golob saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Szczepan Nikodemski took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Waclaw Absolwent. Waclaw Absolwent dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 86 minutes into the match, Phoenix's goalkeeper Roman Golob had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jerzy Oborski. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Phoenix fans cheered their team off the field, for while MZKS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
