Spectators: 8038 (Terracing: 6029, Seating: 1849, VIP seats: 160) Stian Haraldstad started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Arild Norderhaug came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Verdal FK's Gjermund Berre. But to his dismay, Gjermund Berre quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Trym Idland fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Høyvågen's protests and gave Trym Idland a yellow card for diving instead. Arild Norderhaug didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Trym Thorsrud went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 20th minute Trym Thorsrud shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arild Norderhaug saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Gjermund Berre left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Verdal FK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 26th minute Morten Borgersen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arild Norderhaug saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arild Norderhaug showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gjermund Berre in the 27th minute of the match. When Morten Borgersen came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Verdal FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Morten Borgersen couldn't finish the play. Høyvågen's Arild Norderhaug played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gjermund Berre in the 73rd minute of play. A hard shot 76 in the game by Trym Thorsrud from a close distance when the talented Arild Norderhaug managed to make a qualified save. Høyvågen's players were relieved. 82 minutes into the game, Trym Thorsrud recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arild Norderhaug. Trym Thorsrud showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Arild Norderhaug made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Trym Thorsrud sent off a good shot on target. Arild Norderhaug made an important save on a dangerous shot by Morten Borgersen in the 87th minute. In the 91st match minute, Høyvågen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per-Kristian Sundgot to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Verdal FK's Christer Dalseth tried to score from far away in the 92nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Trym Idland kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. With his leg Arild Norderhaug managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when Verdal FK's Trym Thorsrud fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Verdal FK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
