Raymond Frøland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andreas Klæboe, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After some careless play in the Low Expectations defense, Jonas Lilleng kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raymond Frøland. The Low Expectations fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raymond Frøland should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Low Expectations's zone, Kim-André Finnøy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raymond Frøland came out of the goal and Kim-André Finnøy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 11 minutes into the game, Jonas Lilleng cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Raymond Frøland was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Glenn Beck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rune Rekdal having to interfere. Jonas Lilleng blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raymond Frøland having to make a save. A collision led to Fredrikstad FK getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Mons Stenseth hit a great ball. Frank Stein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rune Rekdal having to interfere. If Glenn Beck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Low Expectations's Ruben Ottosen got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Andreas Klæboe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Low Expectations's Raymond Frøland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Lilleng in the 39th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonas Lilleng was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Lilleng in the 52nd minute of play forced Low Expectations's goalkeeper Raymond Frøland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd minute Jonas Lilleng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raymond Frøland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonas Lilleng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raymond Frøland having to interfere. Mikkel Ødegård charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mikkel Ødegård the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 61st match minute, Fredrikstad FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mikkel Ødegård to maneuver through the defense. After 69 played minutes Low Expectations got a freekick which was hit by Glenn Beck. Fredrikstad FK's Rune Rekdal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glenn Beck in the 71st minute of play. Frank Stein might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rune Rekdal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Stein ran back to his position shaking his head. Egil Engdal hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. In the 86th match minute, Low Expectations was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruben Ottosen to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute, Fredrikstad FK's Mons Stenseth seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Mons Stenseth the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Fredrikstad FK protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Mons Stenseth had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 95th match minute, Fredrikstad FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mons Stenseth to maneuver through the defense. Fredrikstad FK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
