Kenneth Sara hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the match, Porto's goal looked a bit too open when Steve Triganza came free, but Kent Wahlstrøm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Steve Triganza put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Kent Wahlstrøm. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hans-Kristian Berg during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 24 minutes into the match, Porto's goal looked a bit too open when Steve Triganza came free, but Kent Wahlstrøm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sindre Westerlund hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christian Brunes in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kent Wahlstrøm prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Steve Triganza took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kent Wahlstrøm. Kent Wahlstrøm dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. 41 minutes had been played when some careless play by Porto's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sindre Westerlund was slow to take the kick. During this time AEK FC's players had a chance to rest. Kent Wahlstrøm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steve Triganza in the 44th minute of the match. After 46 minutes, Steve Triganza made it 0-6 with a short kick to the right side. Porto's Kent Wahlstrøm tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Christian Brunes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Porto's Kent Wahlstrøm was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Brunes in the 54th minute of play forced Porto's goalkeeper Kent Wahlstrøm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 58 minutes Porto's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sindre Westerlund who took care of the corner kick. Kent Wahlstrøm made an important save on a dangerous shot by Steve Triganza in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute AEK FC were awarded a corner. Sindre Westerlund went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Sindre Westerlund got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kent Wahlstrøm quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 69th minute, Christian Brunes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kent Wahlstrøm. The goal made the score 0-8. 77 minutes into the match, Porto's goalkeeper Kent Wahlstrøm had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steve Triganza. Kent Wahlstrøm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Brunes in the 81st minute of play. 84 minutes into the game, Sindre Westerlund cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-11. Kent Wahlstrøm was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Morten Strømnes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kent Wahlstrøm having to interfere. Kent Wahlstrøm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Brunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. When the match was over AEK FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Porto throughout the match.
