Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Asgeir Figenschau in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martin Skogstad prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Torjus Anfinsen came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Gjengstøen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Torjus Anfinsen couldn't finish the play. Tolga Zengin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ole-Gunnar Forbord, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Tolga Zengin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torjus Anfinsen in the 23rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Gjengstøen's Torjus Anfinsen got a free kick in the 26th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Asgeir Figenschau in the 35th minute of play forced Gjengstøen's goalkeeper Martin Skogstad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ole-Gunnar Forbord fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gjengstøen's protests and gave Ole-Gunnar Forbord a yellow card for diving instead. If Asgeir Figenschau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Reidar Juell fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gjengstøen's protests and gave Reidar Juell a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Gjengstøen getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Reidar Juell hit a great ball. In the 41st minute, Molde FKNorway's Tore Meier dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ole-Gunnar Forbord was the one to do the kick off. Ole-Gunnar Forbord could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Tolga Zengin made a huge save. Molde FKNorway's Tolga Zengin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torjus Anfinsen in the 54th minute of play. After 58 minutes of play, Molde FKNorway's Asgeir Figenschau made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Martin Skogstad was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tolga Zengin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ole-Gunnar Forbord in the 66th minute. After 71 minutes of play, Molde FKNorway's Asgeir Figenschau made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Martin Skogstad was left in no man's land by his defense there! Martin Skogstad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tore Meier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thomas Dramstad got free with Tolga Zengin in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Gjengstøen getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Edgard Gausdal hit a great ball. 78 minutes into the match, Molde FKNorway's Dag Ringheim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martin Skogstad narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Asgeir Figenschau in the 79th minute of play forced Gjengstøen's goalkeeper Martin Skogstad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Molde FKNorway booed when Gjengstøen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Even Askeland didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th match minute, Gjengstøen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reidar Juell to maneuver through the defense. Martin Skogstad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Asgeir Figenschau in the 90th minute of play. When Molde FKNorway's Asgeir Figenschau in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gjengstøen's goalie prevented a goal. There was no doubt that Molde FKNorway were the better team. Molde FKNorway's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
