In the 32nd minute Teo Deijnen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacco Popken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacco Popken took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niek Haan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gapinge SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teo Deijnen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Niek Haan made the kick off in the second half. Co Kuys charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Co Kuys the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Niek Haan came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Gapinge SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niek Haan couldn't finish the play. Harris Hosson hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Niek Haan was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 76th minute. Gapinge SC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luuk Verheije during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
