Danny Riemers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luuk Heerspink read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. If Reinier Wensing had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 played minutes Niawier Banino SC got a freekick which was hit by Lex van Zalen. Nathan Hoekstra kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Derk Korf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Jimmy Britton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luuk Heerspink made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Riemers in the 35th minute of play. A collision led to Zwartenberg getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Jochem Meppelink hit a great ball. Niawier Banino SC's Reinier Wensing got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Job van Rooijen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute of the match, Jos van Rijswijk got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jimmy Britton was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

But to his dismay, Reinier Wensing quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Jimmy Britton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Derk Korf in the 69th minute of the match. 1-4 became the score in the 72nd minute when Reinier Wensing elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 77th minute Danny Riemers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luuk Heerspink saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Job van Rooijen during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Job van Rooijen hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. If Heiko Bijl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Niawier Banino SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
