Richard Pepping was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 25th minute Mathieu Evans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Pepping saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mathieu Evans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Richard Pepping tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 31 minutes, Jordy van Zijl mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Enkhuizen and the van Basten players grew even worse after the yellow card. Elco Luijten's late challenge caught a van Basten's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elco Luijten helped the player get up and apologised. Elco Luijten kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Richard Pepping didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for van Basten. Goal Kick. In the 60th minute, Mark Merenga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mathieu Evans in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Richard Pepping saved Enkhuizen from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jordy van Zijl in the 64th minute of play forced van Basten's goalkeeper Theo de Mol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
