Pascal Zalm blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joeri Koole having to make a save. 6 minutes into the match, Pascal Zalm had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joeri Koole. VV Succes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pascal Zalm was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 10 minutes Winthont FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ted van Dam who took care of the corner kick. Winthont FC's Dennis Beerthuis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Esteban Ermano in the 13th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mathijs Grommers in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joeri Koole saved VV Succes from getting behind. Joeri Koole showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pascal Zalm, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Winthont FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hanni Landa came free, but Dennis Beerthuis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the VV Succes defense, Pascal Zalm kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joeri Koole. The VV Succes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joeri Koole should have stopped the shot. Joeri Koole came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Winthont FC's Pascal Zalm. But to his dismay, Pascal Zalm quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Winthont FC's Dennis Beerthuis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Winthont FC from getting a goal against them. Joeri Koole made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pascal Zalm in the 34th minute of play. Joeri Koole came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Winthont FC's Pascal Zalm. But to his dismay, Pascal Zalm quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After a rather tough play, Winthont FC's Henrique Ramalho got a free kick in the 37th minute. Winthont FC's Dennis Beerthuis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Winthont FC from getting a goal against them. Mathijs Grommers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Joeri Koole tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Dennis Beerthuis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esteban Ermano in the 50th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hanni Landa in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dennis Beerthuis saved Winthont FC from getting behind. Pascal Zalm could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Joeri Koole made a huge save. VV Succes's Joeri Koole played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pascal Zalm in the 65th minute of play. In the 69th minute of the match Winthont FC got a corner. VV Succes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sander Schaars ran over to the corner to take the kick. Winthont FC's Yağızalp Öznur was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Joeri Koole in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 71st match minute, VV Succes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lastur Sabina to maneuver through the defense. Winthont FC's Sander Schaars couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for VV Succes. If Gert Jan van Westerop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joeri Koole showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert Jan van Westerop, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Winthont FC's Rappo Rapado managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Job Roeles in the 81 minute of the game. Joeri Koole made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Mathijs Grommers sent off a good shot on target. The Winthont FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
