Georg Hagberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Apotheker in the 6th minute of play. Antoon Zeegers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nick Heesen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute, Ágætis Byrjun's Ditlev Delmont dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, Pisang Goreng United's goal looked a bit too open when Nick Heesen came free, but Antoon Zeegers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute of the game Lucio Morningstar made a throw-in which Fabian Apotheker played forward. Mickael Knops kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. If Nick Heesen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Georg Hagberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabian Apotheker's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. When Nick Heesen came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Ágætis Byrjun fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nick Heesen couldn't finish the play. Pisang Goreng United's Antoon Zeegers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nick Heesen in the 45th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vincent Frankena made a kick off. After 54 minutes of play, Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Antoon Zeegers was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Pisang Goreng United booed when Ágætis Byrjun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alain Roche didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nick Heesen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Antoon Zeegers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nick Heesen, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Antoon Zeegers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nick Heesen in the 70th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Pisang Goreng United defense, Nick Heesen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antoon Zeegers. The Pisang Goreng United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antoon Zeegers should have stopped the shot. In the 80th minute Nick Heesen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antoon Zeegers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antoon Zeegers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nick Heesen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Pisang Goreng United's zone, Nick Heesen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antoon Zeegers came out of the goal and Nick Heesen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pisang Goreng United's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Ágætis Byrjun had won, even though Pisang Goreng United had held more of the ball.
