Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bánk Mónos in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bernt Lundin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Iza Keresztes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Szombathelyi HALADÁS's supporters rose to their feet, but Iza Keresztes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernt Lundin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bernt Lundin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bánk Mónos's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Bernt Lundin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bánk Mónos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iza Keresztes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernt Lundin having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Géza Dárdai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 29 in the game by Bánk Mónos from a close distance when the talented Bernt Lundin managed to make a qualified save. Vág's players were relieved. Bernt Lundin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Vág's Bernt Lundin got control of the ball when Bánk Mónos tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 34th minute Iza Keresztes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernt Lundin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Vág's goal looked a bit too open when Iza Keresztes came free, but Bernt Lundin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bánk Mónos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bernt Lundin came out and tried to block the shot, but Bánk Mónos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 42nd minute. Alfréd Csank's late challenge caught a Vág's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfréd Csank helped the player get up and apologised. Alfréd Csank kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 55th minute of the match, Géza Dárdai tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Károly Balogh saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some careless play in the Vág defense, Iza Keresztes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernt Lundin. The Vág fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernt Lundin should have stopped the shot. When Szombathelyi HALADÁS's Bánk Mónos in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vág's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Géza Dárdai in the 69th minute of play forced Szombathelyi HALADÁS's goalkeeper Károly Balogh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernt Lundin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bánk Mónos in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute Bánk Mónos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernt Lundin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Szombathelyi HALADÁS were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after Vág's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Iza Keresztes took the corner. Szombathelyi HALADÁS's Bánk Mónos got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bernt Lundin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iza Keresztes in the 81st minute of play. 82 minutes into the game, Bánk Mónos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Bernt Lundin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Bánk Mónos came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Szombathelyi HALADÁS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bánk Mónos couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Szombathelyi HALADÁS fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vág had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
