The wind increased when José Gaspard made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Stade Rennais getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. René Argentin hit a great ball. After 62 minutes, René Argentin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stade Rennais and the Morlange players grew even worse after the yellow card. Through an outstanding action, after 63 minutes, Paul-Émile Mathelin successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The Morlange fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lionel Leboulanger should have stopped the shot. 93 minutes into the match, Stade Rennais's goalkeeper Paul-Émile Mathelin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Octave Lager. Morlange played a much better game than Stade Rennais and deserved their victory. The Stade Rennais players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
