Jim Coquel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bixente Rodier, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. If Bixente Rodier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute, Thibault Gleize hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jim Coquel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Travert in the 30th minute of the match. Brian Travert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bayern de Monique's Jim Coquel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brian Travert in the 35th minute of play. Salle's Bixente Rodier got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40th minute Bixente Rodier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Coquel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brian Travert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Coquel having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cédric Royere stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Salle getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Bixente Rodier hit a great ball. Salle's Bixente Rodier pulled a muscle in his leg after 57 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After a rather tough play, Bayern de Monique's Théodore Blanchard got a free kick in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Travert in the 59th minute of play forced Bayern de Monique's goalkeeper Jim Coquel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brian Travert couldn't finish the play. Brian Travert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 0-2 became the score in the 84th minute when Brian Travert elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Brian Travert struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Jim Coquel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salle. In the 91st minute Raphaël Archimbaud shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Coquel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jim Coquel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Travert in the 92nd minute of play. Jim Coquel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Travert in the 94th minute of the match.
