When Arnaud Konieczny came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Herblay fans jumped to their feet. Lev Yashin made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Antonin Dagorne sent off a good shot on target. In the 42nd minute, Hugo Law hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Antonin Dagorne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Lev Yashin made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Farid Verrecchia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tristan Vicente having to interfere. Herblay were awarded a corner in the 94th minute after Le Stade Briochin UC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Romeo Gleizes took the corner. After taking down the ball on Herblay's corner Romeo Gleizes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lev Yashin quite easily take care of the ball.
