Jim Bannatyne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonin Dagorne in the 3rd minute of the match. When Herblay's Antonin Dagorne in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pélicans FC's goalie prevented a goal. After 6 played minutes Herblay got a freekick which was hit by Joël Willaume. Herblay's Tristan Vicente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stanislas Bagot in the 7th minute of play. Tristan Vicente came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Pélicans FC's Stanislas Bagot. But to his dismay, Stanislas Bagot quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 10th minute Antonin Dagorne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Bannatyne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Pélicans FC's Bart Anelka got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 12th minute, Abdel Couderc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13th minute Stanislas Bagot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tristan Vicente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 18 played minutes Pélicans FC got a freekick which was hit by Luisito Tono. Herblay's Dimitri Bougault shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 19th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jim Bannatyne but with some difficulty. Norbert Cadart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Antonin Dagorne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Jim Bannatyne made a huge save. Pélicans FC's Jim Bannatyne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Pélicans FC from getting a goal against them. Antonin Dagorne in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jim Bannatyne, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jim Bannatyne was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Arnaud Konieczny capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arnaud Konieczny really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. In the last second Jim Bannatyne throw himself and got hold of the ball when Arnaud Konieczny in the 31stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Jim Bannatyne made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Arnaud Konieczny sent off a good shot on target. Pélicans FC's Jim Bannatyne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Pélicans FC from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arnaud Konieczny in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jim Bannatyne prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Norbert Cadart might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jim Bannatyne. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Norbert Cadart ran back to his position shaking his head. Jim Bannatyne made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dimitri Bougault in the 40th minute. Abdel Couderc hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Jim Bannatyne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonin Dagorne, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arnaud Konieczny was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Antonin Dagorne made a precise shot to the right of Jim Bannatyne. Pélicans FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonin Dagorne in the 56th minute of play forced Pélicans FC's goalkeeper Jim Bannatyne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antonin Dagorne's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jim Bannatyne read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Jim Bannatyne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaud Konieczny, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grégory Trevisan kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Dimitri Bougault scored 4-1 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jim Bannatyne, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 83 minutes, Arnaud Konieczny managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herblay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnaud Konieczny was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 85 minutes into the match, Pélicans FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dimitri Bougault came free, but Jim Bannatyne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute Arnaud Konieczny shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Bannatyne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Herblay booed when Pélicans FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dylan Le Baron didn't get a good kick on the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Joël Willaume had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jim Bannatyne. Pélicans FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joël Willaume was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1.
