After a rather tough play, Real Madrid FC's Olov Ekrot got a free kick in the 12th minute. Eilif Rosholm might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hannibal Senior. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eilif Rosholm ran back to his position shaking his head. Eilif Rosholm's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hannibal Senior read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. After having played for 15 minutes, Tor Helvard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Madrid FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tor Helvard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Real Madrid FC's Hannibal Senior played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eilif Rosholm in the 18th minute of play. Hannibal Senior made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herbert Barmer in the 20th minute of play. In the 34th minute Absalon Valfos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hannibal Senior saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute, Eilif Rosholm got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Real Madrid FC's goal looked a bit too open when Herbert Barmer came free, but Hannibal Senior reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Odense Boldklub were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The supporters of Real Madrid FC booed when Odense Boldklub was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Absalon Valfos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eilif Rosholm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Hannibal Senior tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hannibal Senior showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eilif Rosholm in the 69th minute of the match. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Odense Boldklub's goalkeeper Jonny Mantel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hannibal Senior showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eilif Rosholm in the 86th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eilif Rosholm in the 89th minute of play forced Real Madrid FC's goalkeeper Hannibal Senior to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Real Madrid FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eilif Rosholm came free, but Hannibal Senior reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Eilif Rosholm cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3.
