An unexpectedly hard shot by Georg Nicklis in the 22nd minute of play forced Rühl24's goalkeeper Arlo Schriml to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Iserlohn Kangaroos's Sören Räthe got control of the ball when Pablo Bähr tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pablo Bähr who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Sören Räthe when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Alexander Berger's late challenge caught a Rühl24's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
