Felix Kitzmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Hugo Mach tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Kitzmann in the 27th minute of play forced FC Bayern's goalkeeper Hugo Mach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Bayern's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Felix Kitzmann scored to the left of an out of position Hugo Mach, making the score, 1-0. After a rather tough play, hoffenheim's Armando Zielezinski got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in hoffenheim's zone, Ulrich Rzepka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tim Eisenblätter came out of the goal and Ulrich Rzepka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mel Reck kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. 37 minutes into the match, hoffenheim's Armando Zielezinski broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Maik Grassow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Tim Eisenblätter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the game, Birger Thönnes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Bayern's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave hoffenheim the free kick. Birger Thönnes kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. When Armando Zielezinski came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the hoffenheim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armando Zielezinski couldn't finish the play. Hugo Mach took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Kitzmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

If Wilfried Mademann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tim Eisenblätter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulrich Rzepka in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes into the game, Petrus Lenke was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. hoffenheim's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Bayern the free kick. Petrus Lenke kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 57th minute, Ulrich Rzepka got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of FC Bayern booed when hoffenheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petrus Lenke didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tim Eisenblätter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ulrich Rzepka's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. After 62 minutes of play, FC Bayern's Maik Grassow made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tim Eisenblätter was left in no man's land by his defense there! 68 minutes in the game, Ulrich Rzepka fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Tim Eisenblätter having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Armando Zielezinski managed to get in a good position for a shot. hoffenheim's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Zielezinski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugo Mach breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hugo Mach showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfried Mademann in the 73rd minute of the match. Theodor Grenzhäuser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute, Wilfried Mademann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bernt Schultz's late challenge caught a hoffenheim's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernt Schultz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 90th match minute, FC Bayern was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernt Schultz to maneuver through the defense. 92 minutes into the match, Wilfried Mademann had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hugo Mach. FC Bayern's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilfried Mademann was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Tim Eisenblätter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulrich Rzepka in the 96th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Bayern players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for hoffenheim.
