Pit Randel kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the match, Appercha's goal looked a bit too open when Lorenz Palmer came free, but John Küffner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Werner Uhde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute of the match, Christof Hähner tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nico Brübach saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. SV Wehen Wiesbaden's Nico Brübach played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christof Hähner in the 17th minute of play. Detmar Wirtz kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christof Hähner in the 23rd minute of play forced SV Wehen Wiesbaden's goalkeeper Nico Brübach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Christof Hähner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Christof Hähner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christof Hähner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nico Brübach having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, SV Wehen Wiesbaden's goalkeeper Nico Brübach had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Werner Uhde. 36 minutes into the match, SV Wehen Wiesbaden's goal looked a bit too open when Christof Hähner came free, but Nico Brübach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SV Wehen Wiesbaden's Lorenz Palmer managed to work through Appercha's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Lorenz Palmer dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Werner Uhde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lorenz Palmer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lorenz Palmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Küffner having to interfere. After having played for 57 minutes, Werner Uhde managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Appercha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Werner Uhde was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mirko Frigger hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. The corner ended in Matthäus Heiduk almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SV Wehen Wiesbaden's Nico Brübach did a great save. Nico Brübach showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christof Hähner in the 64th minute of the match. When Sandro Gaede came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the SV Wehen Wiesbaden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandro Gaede couldn't finish the play. Sandro Gaede received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. John Küffner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Lorenz Palmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christof Hähner in the 78th minute of play forced SV Wehen Wiesbaden's goalkeeper Nico Brübach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. John Küffner made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Sandro Gaede sent off a good shot on target. Appercha's John Küffner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernhard Goldmann in the 82nd minute of play. Christof Hähner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Werner Uhde managed to get in a good position for a shot. Appercha's supporters rose to their feet, but Werner Uhde was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nico Brübach breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 89 minutes into the match, Christof Hähner had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nico Brübach. SV Wehen Wiesbaden's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christof Hähner was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. A hard shot 94 in the game by Sandro Gaede from a close distance when the talented John Küffner managed to make a qualified save. Appercha's players were relieved. John Küffner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenz Palmer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sandro Gaede received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. John Küffner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SV Wehen Wiesbaden's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
