Hellmut Karrenbauer in the 6thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Joachim Brandborn, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Iserlohner Heide FC's Johann Ebbenga in 7 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Tobias Guenther guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Johann Ebbenga in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tobias Guenther prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tobias Guenther made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rudolf Gerulat in the 24th minute of play. Joachim Brandborn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hellmut Karrenbauer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Iserlohner Heide FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hellmut Karrenbauer came free, but Joachim Brandborn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hellmut Karrenbauer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joachim Brandborn having to interfere. If Herrmann Rocker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute Herrmann Rocker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Brandborn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute, Rudolf Tiedemann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Iserlohner Heide FC booed when VFB Stuttgart was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reto Moratschke didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Iserlohner Heide FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norman Neffin couldn't finish the play. Reto Moratschke's late challenge caught a Iserlohner Heide FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reto Moratschke helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, VFB Stuttgart's Reto Moratschke got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 62nd minute Hellmut Karrenbauer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Brandborn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a left leg Joachim Brandborn saved Iserlohner Heide FC from getting behind. In the 94th minute, Rudolf Tiedemann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute, Reto Moratschke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The VFB Stuttgart fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Iserlohner Heide FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
