The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriano Wertscher in the 9th minute of play forced FK CRVENA ZVEZDA's goalkeeper Henri Holmström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute, Muhammad Kefacha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dagobert Saluz made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Fu Sen Yi sent off a good shot on target. After 25 minutes, Bartlomiej Rzentkowski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FK CRVENA ZVEZDA and the Sorens players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 25th match minute, FK CRVENA ZVEZDA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartlomiej Rzentkowski to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the match, FK CRVENA ZVEZDA's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Wertscher came free, but Henri Holmström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sorens's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cesário Lemos in the 28th minute. After taking down the ball on Sorens's corner Cesário Lemos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Henri Holmström quite easily take care of the ball. When Volmar Boyer came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the FK CRVENA ZVEZDA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Volmar Boyer couldn't finish the play. Stefan Nietlisbach hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. A collision led to Sorens getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Adriano Wertscher hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fu Sen Yi got free with Dagobert Saluz in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sorens's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ziggy Zigdon was slow to take the kick. During this time FK CRVENA ZVEZDA's players had a chance to rest. Jack Conte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adriano Wertscher in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henri Holmström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Henri Holmström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Wertscher, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Sorens's Dagobert Saluz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fu Sen Yi in the 44th minute of play. Fu Sen Yi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Dagobert Saluz made a huge save. Stefan Nietlisbach hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, FK CRVENA ZVEZDA's Fu Sen Yi ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dagobert Saluz. Dagobert Saluz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adriano Wertscher was the one to do the kick off. Ziggy Zigdon's late challenge caught a Sorens's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ziggy Zigdon helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to FK CRVENA ZVEZDA getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Ziggy Zigdon hit a great ball. Henri Holmström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano Wertscher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th match minute, FK CRVENA ZVEZDA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tamás Bán to maneuver through the defense. Adriano Wertscher's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 57thth minute, Henri Holmström skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Tamás Bán struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Dagobert Saluz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FK CRVENA ZVEZDA. FK CRVENA ZVEZDA made a substitution. Franco Babst replaced Johnny Geiger. When Volmar Boyer came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the FK CRVENA ZVEZDA fans jumped to their feet. The FK CRVENA ZVEZDA fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when FK CRVENA ZVEZDA's Fu Sen Yi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Dagobert Saluz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Volmar Boyer in the 86th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Tamás Bán had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dagobert Saluz. Sorens's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tamás Bán was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After 93 played minutes FK CRVENA ZVEZDA got a freekick which was hit by Fu Sen Yi. 97 minutes into the match, FK CRVENA ZVEZDA's goalkeeper Henri Holmström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adriano Wertscher. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FK CRVENA ZVEZDA had played much better football throughout.
