An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvain Grootaerts in the 6th minute of play forced SIRI United's goalkeeper Santiago Cañizares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC BAYBURT's Jiang Shu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save FC BAYBURT from getting a goal against them. A hard shot by Urban Fankhauser from long distance, 10 minutes into the match, got Jiang Shu's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 13 minutes into the match, Massimo Poulin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jiang Shu, 1-0. In the 18th minute Alexander Weigl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Cañizares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricardo Haag got free with Jiang Shu in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Santiago Cañizares came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by FC BAYBURT's Beniamino Bergmann. But to his dismay, Beniamino Bergmann quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Santiago Cañizares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvain Grootaerts in the 27th minute of the match. SIRI United's Santiago Cañizares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beniamino Bergmann in the 29th minute of play. After some careless play in the SIRI United defense, Alexander Weigl kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Santiago Cañizares. The SIRI United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santiago Cañizares should have stopped the shot. A collision led to SIRI United getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Ricardo Haag hit a great ball. Graciano Lindenmann made in the 40th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Pastor Jago. 42 minutes into the game, FC BAYBURT's Othello Simon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Santiago Cañizares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricardo Haag to make the kick off. Jiang Shu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Haag, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Santiago Cañizares was out of position in the 61 minute of play, and Silvain Grootaerts capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Silvain Grootaerts really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. Santiago Cañizares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beniamino Bergmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Santiago Cañizares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alexander Weigl in the 67th minute. In the 70th minute, Massimo Poulin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SIRI United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-5. 74 minutes into the match, SIRI United's goal looked a bit too open when Silvain Grootaerts came free, but Santiago Cañizares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SIRI United's Santiago Cañizares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvain Grootaerts in the 74th minute of play. Othello Simon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Santiago Cañizares made a huge save. 81 minutes into the match, SIRI United's goal looked a bit too open when Beniamino Bergmann came free, but Santiago Cañizares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, FC BAYBURT's goal looked a bit too open when Gerold Thoma came free, but Jiang Shu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Beniamino Bergmann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Santiago Cañizares made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Othello Simon got free with Santiago Cañizares in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Santiago Cañizares made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Othello Simon sent off a good shot on target. When the final whistle sounded FC BAYBURT left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SIRI United.
