The referee ignored Bertrix's protests and gave Kasper Verhagen a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bertrix's Kasper Verhagen got a free kick in the 4th minute. Bastiaan Goethals received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Remie Sielens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Will Gooris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Remie Sielens made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Bastiaan Goethals sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Will Gooris in the 12th minute of play forced Bertrix's goalkeeper Remie Sielens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 16 played minutes Xander Steenberghs rounded Bertrix's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Kasper Verhagen kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Guy Van Clynenbreugel was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 20th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 23rd minute, Gwenn Ooms ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Giovanni Van Dock was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Remie Sielens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Will Gooris in the 27th minute of play. If Gwenn Ooms had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute, Arnoud Teunens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gwenn Ooms sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the match, Bertrix's goal looked a bit too open when Will Gooris came free, but Remie Sielens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Leon Wollans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Van Dock having to interfere. Brain Breugelmans was extremely unlucky when he, in the 55th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When Gwenn Ooms came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Bertrix fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gwenn Ooms couldn't finish the play. 58 minutes into the match, Will Gooris had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Remie Sielens. Bertrix's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Will Gooris was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. If Leon Wollans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 66 minutes, Gwenn Ooms managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bertrix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gwenn Ooms was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 68 minutes into the match, KVSK Kontich's goalkeeper Giovanni Van Dock had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gwenn Ooms. Giovanni Van Dock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Wollans in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 74th minute, KVSK Kontich's Guy Van Clynenbreugel seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Guy Van Clynenbreugel the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of KVSK Kontich protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Guy Van Clynenbreugel had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 74 minutes into the game, one of KVSK Kontich:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Bertrix a penalty, 77 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Steffe Bernardts, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of KVSK Kontich's Giovanni Van Dock. 2-2. Bertrix's Gwenn Ooms got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Giovanni Van Dock was a little too slow when Leon Wollans got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 88th minute. The score was now 2-3. Leon Wollans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Van Dock having to interfere. Gwenn Ooms sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Bertrix walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
