When Cederik Vissenaeckens fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mannen weten waarom's protests and gave Cederik Vissenaeckens a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Luka United booed when Mannen weten waarom was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cederik Vissenaeckens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stein Van den Haute in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thomas-Jan Delen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Robbie Coppens might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thomas-Jan Delen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robbie Coppens ran back to his position shaking his head. Stein Van den Haute fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas-Jan Delen having to interfere. Pieter-Maarten Verheugen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrad Wauters, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Conrad Wauters stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luka United's Thomas-Jan Delen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robbie Coppens in the 52nd minute of play. Luka United's Thomas-Jan Delen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Luka United from getting a goal against them. Conrad Wauters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Pieter-Maarten Verheugen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Luka United getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Thomas-Jan Delen, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 66th minute of the match Eddy Neefs shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pieter-Maarten Verheugen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Pieter-Maarten Verheugen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conrad Wauters in the 68th minute of the match. Conrad Wauters took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pieter-Maarten Verheugen. Pieter-Maarten Verheugen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Thomas-Jan Delen was a little too slow when Robbie Coppens got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 1-1. After having played for 89 minutes, Stein Van den Haute managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mannen weten waarom's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stein Van den Haute was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Robbie Coppens received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Thomas-Jan Delen came out and tried to block the shot, but Robbie Coppens slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 91st minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mannen weten waarom walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
