Giovanny Gillekens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nils De Meyer in the 44th minute of play. Michiel Roosendael was shown his second yellow card after 46 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 47 played minutes Royal Union Auderghem got a freekick which was hit by Michiel Roosendael. In the 47th minute, Bjorn De Custer sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Royal Union Auderghem's Giovanny Gillekens didn't even have to move. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Johan Visch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Giovanny Gillekens made a huge save. In the 86th match minute, Royal Union Auderghem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gunter Van Aken to maneuver through the defense. Giovanny Gillekens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matthieu Grootjans, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Johan Vischs short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Giovanny Gillekens to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Johan Visch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanny Gillekens having to interfere. Balthazar Mesmaeckers's late challenge caught a Club Papegem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Balthazar Mesmaeckers helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Club Papegem booed when Royal Union Auderghem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Balthazar Mesmaeckers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Club Papegem's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
