Gunther Gressens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dyllen Martin having to interfere. Andrew Hostens hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Johan Visch scored 2-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnaud Roussel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Arnaud Roussel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Dyllen Martin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michel Claevers's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. 41 minutes into the match, FC Diest's goalkeeper Arnaud Roussel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Johan Visch. A collision led to FC Diest getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Andrew Hostens hit a great ball. The long shot by Bjorn De Custer in the 48th minute really tested Arnaud Roussel's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Gunther Gressens made the kick off in the second half. Gerard Spoelberch kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. If Johan Visch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnaud Roussel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils De Meyer, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute, Felix Van Clynenbreugel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Club Papegem's Bjorn De Custer tried to score from far away in the 69th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Johan Visch recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 74 minutes into the match, Club Papegem's goal looked a bit too open when Gunther Gressens came free, but Dyllen Martin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peter Diericx hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Nils De Meyer's late challenge caught a FC Diest's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nils De Meyer helped the player get up and apologised. 82 minutes into the game, Mats Koppens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Papegem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Diest the free kick. In the 84th minute Andrew Hostens managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johan Visch in the 87th minute of play forced FC Diest's goalkeeper Arnaud Roussel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
