The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 10 played minutes De Huppelende Zebras got a freekick which was hit by Lukas Gijselinckx. Jo Gallot kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 15th minute Jerry Goebelens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidro Calisto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isidro Calisto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gert-Jan Verduyckt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute, Gert-Jan Verduyckt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dimitri Van Hooveldt who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of Herman Kortens when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerry Goebelens in the 25th minute of play forced Patro Eisden Maasmechelen's goalkeeper Isidro Calisto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evert-Jan Meeus hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Alex Rueda hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Dimitri Van Hooveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isidro Calisto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tijs Van Gorpt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Herman Kortens was a little too slow when Dimitri Van Hooveldt got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 1-0. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Dimitri Van Hooveldt took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Herman Kortens to make any attempt to save it. De Huppelende Zebras's Herman Kortens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tommas Van Bombergen in the 41st minute of play. Tijs Van Gorpt hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Dimitri Van Hooveldt received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Herman Kortens came out and tried to block the shot, but Dimitri Van Hooveldt slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Tijs Van Gorpt made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Patro Eisden Maasmechelen got a freekick which was hit by Evert-Jan Meeus. Wes Denturck kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Dimitri Van Hooveldt took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Herman Kortens. Herman Kortens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. In the 62ndth minute of the game Wayne Bernaerts who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but De Huppelende Zebras's Herman Kortens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Isidro Calisto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tijs Van Gorpt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute Alex Rueda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidro Calisto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daevy Masculier was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 85 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute, one of Patro Eisden Maasmechelen:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Patro Eisden Maasmechelen. The goalkeeper, Isidro Calisto, was totally fooled by De Huppelende Zebras's Alex Rueda, who 88 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After a defensive mix-up in De Huppelende Zebras's zone, Wayne Bernaerts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Herman Kortens came out of the goal and Wayne Bernaerts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Isidro Calisto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tijs Van Gorpt in the 95th minute of play. Patro Eisden Maasmechelen's Wayne Bernaerts got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Patro Eisden Maasmechelen fully deserved thier win.
