But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joop Eggers couldn't finish the play. In the 21st minute, Joop Eggers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Timmy Widdepenninck might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Steffen Leclerq. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Timmy Widdepenninck ran back to his position shaking his head. Steffen Leclerq showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joop Eggers, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Steffen Leclerq made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Timmy Widdepenninck sent off a good shot on target. Steffen Leclerq showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joop Eggers in the 31st minute of the match. Joop Eggers struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. The supporters of schoten booed when OS Nooby United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Loid Valckx didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Angelo Baert was the one to do the kick off. Joop Eggers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steffen Leclerq having to interfere. In the 58th minute Timmy Widdepenninck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steffen Leclerq saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Robbe Smidts fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored schoten's protests and gave Robbe Smidts a yellow card for diving instead. Steffen Leclerq stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joop Eggers's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute.
