After a rather tough play, Torpedo Lier's Christopher Aelgoet got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Torpedo Lier's goalkeeper Remie Kint, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Remie Kint made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Carberry in the 7th minute of play. Waud De Geyter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matt Marsland in the 9th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Matt Marsland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Torpedo Lier's supporters rose to their feet, but Matt Marsland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waud De Geyter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Silver Squad AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 13th minute, when Matt Marsland scored to the left of an out of position Waud De Geyter, making the score, 1-0. Torpedo Lier's Bo Granberg quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Bror Litenboks, made in the 18th minute of the game. Matt Marsland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matt Marsland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Waud De Geyter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Torpedo Lier's Remie Kint played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loid De Keuster in the 23rd minute of play. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Silver Squad AFC's goalkeeper Waud De Geyter, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Loid De Keuster blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Remie Kint having to make a save. Waud De Geyter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matt Marsland in the 31st minute of the match. Matt Marsland took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Waud De Geyter. Waud De Geyter dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Remie Kint didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frans Van Caubergen went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Torpedo Lier booed when Silver Squad AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogério Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matt Marsland succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-1 in the 44th playminute. Mitrofan Mitrović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benjamin Carberry to make the kick off. The supporters of Silver Squad AFC booed when Torpedo Lier was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilian Aelgoet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Waud De Geyter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matt Marsland, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 57 minutes into the match, Silver Squad AFC's Bror Litenboks sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Remie Kint narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Silver Squad AFC's zone, Matt Marsland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waud De Geyter came out of the goal and Matt Marsland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 71st play minutes Benjamin Carberry shot 3-2, a short shot which went by Remie Kint and just under the crossbar into goal. 78 minutes had been played when some careless play by Torpedo Lier's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Henrik Ooms was slow to take the kick. During this time Silver Squad AFC's players had a chance to rest. Matt Marsland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the match, Torpedo Lier's goalkeeper Remie Kint had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Loid De Keuster. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Matt Marsland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Torpedo Lier's supporters rose to their feet, but Matt Marsland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mitrofan Mitrović in the 93rd minute of play forced Silver Squad AFC's goalkeeper Waud De Geyter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 95 minutes, Matt Marsland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Torpedo Lier's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matt Marsland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Torpedo Lier fans cheered their team off the field, for while Silver Squad AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
