KFC Hamont-Achel's Ronaldinho Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albert Fabry in the 14th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Hamont-Achel's zone, Gonzalo Jenaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronaldinho Taffarel came out of the goal and Gonzalo Jenaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 28 played minutes Westkust got a freekick which was hit by Gonzalo Jenaro. 30 minutes into the match, KFC Hamont-Achel's goal looked a bit too open when Gonzalo Jenaro came free, but Ronaldinho Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute, Szymon Fronczak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 38th match minute, Westkust was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentin Mikaelsson to maneuver through the defense. Ronaldinho Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Mikaelsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The audience was convinced that Szymon Fronczak's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Magne Giliusson was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Magne Giliusson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pierre-Alexandre Vincx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 74 minutes into the game, Tommi Van Bets was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KFC Hamont-Achel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Westkust the free kick. The tension between the Westkust and the KFC Hamont-Achel players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 95 played minutes Westkust got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Eftimescu. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Westkust eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
