Vasile Jurăscu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vasile Jurăscu in the 4th minute of play forced Gorunesti's goalkeeper Cristinel Oravițan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If George Furdui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lucrețiu Ichim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Gorunesti's Manole Tătăruşanu got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 14th match minute, Rapiduletu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Furdui to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, Gorunesti's goal looked a bit too open when Vasile Jurăscu came free, but Cristinel Oravițan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucrețiu Ichim in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Horea Pescaru saved Rapiduletu from getting behind. In the 28th minute, Martin Câmpeanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Martin Câmpeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horea Pescaru having to interfere. The supporters of Gorunesti booed when Rapiduletu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Curteanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucrețiu Ichim struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Horea Pescaru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gorunesti. Horea Pescaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucrețiu Ichim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Lucrețiu Ichim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Horea Pescaru stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lucrețiu Ichim's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 57th minute Lucrețiu Ichim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horea Pescaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristinel Oravițan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vasile Jurăscu in the 58th minute of play. Horea Pescaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucrețiu Ichim in the 63rd minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Rapiduletu's goal looked a bit too open when Lucrețiu Ichim came free, but Horea Pescaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rapiduletu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gorunesti the free kick. Martin Câmpeanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Horea Pescaru made a huge save. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Lucrețiu Ichim sped through Rapiduletu's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Horea Pescaru. Grigore Bouleanu kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Gorunesti's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
